The Campus provides opportunities for people over 23 years of age from all over the south east to access accredited third level courses.
This allows many students to gain or return to employment, or to undertake continuing professional development relevant to their career path. Just as importantly, perhaps, these programmes offer participants an opportunity to explore new fields of interest, and encourage them to grow as thinking, questioning and critical individuals.
As well as the flagship BA in Local and Community Studies, which involves nine Departments of NUI Maynooth.
The Campus also offers a range of shorter Certificate and Diploma programmes including Counselling, Addiction Studies, Spanish, Creative Writing for Publication, Irish and Philosophy.
In 2010 the Campus expanded its offering to provide postgraduate programmes in Adult and Community Education which can be taken part time up to Masters level. To complement the accredited offerings, the Campus is developing a series of non-accredited short courses in a number of areas including Philosophy and English Literature and a range of teg (Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge) courses in the Irish Language from absolute beginners level to intermediate.
