The Kilkenny Music Festival took place in early March with a host of competitions for all age groups. Once again, St Kieran’s College students enjoyed the opportunity to show their musical talents and achieved great success to reward their hard work. Both Junior and Senior were runners up in their respective competitions and the Senior Choral Group were pipped at the post following their fine rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. St Kieran’s College Jazz players, led by Mr Eamon Cahill, also achieved great success with DJ Delaney winning the Senior Wind Recital while Mikey Ragget and Artem Arlukov won the U15 Clarinet and the U15 Saxophone competitions respectively. Well done to Ms O’Connor who conducted the choirs, Ms Fitzpatrick who accompanied on the Piano and to Mr Cahill for his guidance with the Jazz musicians.
