Swimming

St Kieran’s College enters the Leinster Senior Schools and The All-Ireland School Championships.
In recent years  we have had great success at these competitions, winning Gold and Silver in the 4 x 50m Medley and Freestyle Relays for the past three years at the Leinster Competitions. We took  Silver in the 4 x 50 Freestyle Relay at the All-Ireland Competition and are always placed in top 5 at this level each year despite stiff competition from the other Provinces.
Individually, St Kierans College has been the home of some international swimmers over the years with most recently David Prendergast representing the school when he swam on the Irish Team at the annual W.I.S.E Competition which was held in Glasgow. He had the opportunity to swim against English, Scottish and Welsh teams. Colm Dowling broke the Irish Senior Schools 200 I.M. record while he was a student here.

Robbie English has won many Special Olympic medals representing Ireland in the pool.

Brogan McAviney has competed at Leinster and All Ireland level continuing a great tradition of swimming in the school.
