There are a number of instrumental lessons offered on school campus which are open to students in all years. The first of these lessons takes place at lunchtimes in the Music room on Mondays and Tuesdays. These guitar lessons are offered by Lisa Hennessy. The second instrument that can be studied is the piano. Lessons for this take place after school in the Music room and are taught by Sheila Ryan. The final set of lessons offers a range of instruments to choose from. Eamon Cahill visits the school and teaches the clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and trombone. Students who partake in these lessons are then invited to get involved in the school Jazz Band which perform at least twice a year in the Watergate Theatre. The Jazz Band has between 15 and 20 members and have performed hits such as ‘Hit the Road Jack’ and ‘Don’t Stop Believing’.
